Keeping the integrity of this 1950’s bungalow was top of mind for the client. Removing a wall opened up what was a cramped space for family gatherings. Adding access to the rear yard from the kitchen French doors added light and entertaining in the summer now became an option with easy transition between workspace and outdoor living.
Newly installed reclaimed oak floor in the kitchen was effectively feathered into the existing oak floor, creating continuity throughout while at the same time provided an airy, unified feel to the space. Another key request of the client: to create less environmental impact through the renovation.

Work zones, recycling systems, pantry and broom storage, and a clever lift system hide-away for countertop appliances or charging station were incorporated for ease of use and to maintain a sense of calm and order – a place for everything, function being top of mind.
Under cabinet lighting, floating shelf down lighting and the clever use of sconces created dimension and style to an otherwise straight forward linear galley kitchen. Stylish champagne bronze hardware and fixturing was the icing on the cake.
