Home Design and Interior Design

A collaboration between the Step One Design for house design concept, and interior design along with build by Villamar Construction proved to be a successful project for all. The owner had set constraints – the need for one home to have two separate homes, 9 bedrooms, 5 full baths, 2 half baths, a garage and room enough for everyone to navigate easily!

Thus, two homes were jam packed into this vacation property for the owner and his grown family. At the front of the home, a 3 bedroom, 2 story “suite” was created. This provided privacy for all parties, while at the same time offering the option to offer as a vacation rental and thus revenue stream when not in use by his children. The main residence included a layout with great room, garage, master, laundry and guest/office on main floor, and 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms on the upper floor.

Let's Discuss Your Plans

Hip roofs, stucco and siding made this a modern yet transitional home. The transitional was more inclusive in the established neighborhood, while the modern allowed the owners to express their request for simply, elegant spaces that had a sense of calm.

Mirage white oak floors, and walnut cabinetry in the main residence created elegance and calm. While the suite was built for durability which included wood look low VOC vinyl plank floors and clean white cabinetry.

A covered exterior eating and lounging area to the south facing yard (along with skylights so that sun into great room was not impeded) offered the ability to expand family gatherings in the warmer months.
